Linkin Park performed in front of around 8,000 enthusiastic (mostly) Finns in Himos Park, near Jämsä in central Finland. A great climax to what had been a good first concert of this magnitude at the venue.
There had been a few of the usual organisational hiccups that frequently happen in Finland but that was not enough to spoil was what a really good event.
I’ll do a summary of that in a follow up post, but below is a quick review of Linkin Park’s set.
They did however play a good mix of all of their albums and played all their “classics” – with the possible exception of The Catalyst.
The concert venue was good and it allowed for a very good view from not too far away – though the pictures may make you think differently.
Highlight of the show for me was their slower medley: Leave Out All the Rest / Shadow of the Day / Iridescent. It was a very powerful segment of the set.
They ended the show with Bleed it Out. This was a great finale as the song includes clapping already so it really worked the crowd into a final frenzy.
They were very professional as always, this is the third time I have seen them. I did however feel it was a little less personal than previous occasions.
I will never forget Mike Shinoda’s face in 2009 as he looked up from his keyboards into the Sonisphere crowd & realised just how many people were loving their music.
But they are a business. They are great at what they do and certainly left the crowd very satisfied.
What was your highlight?
