I last saw Apocalytica about a year and a half ago, performing with a chamber orchestra. Jump forward to 2015 and they have a new album and a full time singer on board. How would they fair in a rock venue?
Support by The Blanko, another Finnish band, this gig was a real rocker. It was chockablock downstairs but we ventured upstairs for the first time.
There were good views, no queues for the bar or toilets so it was definitely a good vantage point.
They rattled through their set with great aplomb, the only real stand out was for a bad reason: They played the Angry Birds theme.
They did make up for this though with 3 Metallica covers..
- Master of Puppets
- Seek & Destroy
They played a lot, unsurprisingly, from their latest album: Shadowmaker.
A good gig, enjoyed a lot – sponsored by Bombay Sapphire Gin :-)
What was your highlight?
